In September 2006 Ron Vandiver, after a successful career as partner and Vice President of Sales with an Ohio based horticultural plastic company, saw fresh opportunities in manufacturing and distribution, and opened his own company, Canton Plastics International, with his business partner and wife Janine Vandiver.
Currently, Canton Plastics International specializes in:
- Customized larger and standard containers for commercial growers
- Retail ready designer series flowerpots in a palette of beautiful colors
- Bio-Line Potstm - biodegradable flowerpots in an array of styles and colors
To reflect their product and philosophy, the company’s tag is ‘containers that care.’
“We care about making the necessary adaptations to a diversifying market, the kind that offers our clients increased profits while offering an upscale, reliable product,” says Ron. “We believe that quality need not be sacrificed to cost, and are enjoying working with our growers in identifying new trends, and creating products that fulfill the needs of both client and consumer. Finally, we care about the potential of bio-degradable pots, and plan to stay at the forefront of this emerging technology.”
Simply put, Ron and Janine understand the container world, and are looking forward to expanding the sales potential of their clients. To this end, the company offers a growing list of exclusive designs, including the already popular Town and Country Rail Planter that fits both 2” x 4” and 2” x 6” deck railings.
Originally based in Canton, Ohio, and working with a company in the Canton region of China (now called Guangzhou), Canton Plastics International seemed the ideal name for the new company. Since the start-up, headquarters have moved to St.Louis, Missouri, while the name still bespeaks the collaboration of two cultures and our growing global market.
The company’s goal is to meet growing consumer demand with higher quality products and customized options, while maintaining sound competitive pricing. This they can readily provide via compelling new manufacturing resources and distribution venues, in combination with their industry expertise. Ron’s industry experience and Janine’s background in working with concept sales and marketing gives this team an exceptional ability to help our customers offer a package of creativity and cost effectiveness, while having fun in a changing industry.
